DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER's Tour Bus Catches Fire

September 30, 2009

DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER's tour bus caught fire while the German band was making its way from Graz, Austria to Milan, Italy for the next concert on the Paganfest European tour.

A photo of the aftermath can be viewed below. More pictures are available here. A story (in German) regarding the incident can be found at this location.

In other news, DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER will play several Christmas shows in December. The band states, "These will be truly unique shows which we are currently planning. Contrary to Paganfest, we'll serve you the full REITER dose with an extra long set. We're planning some surprises for the show and will dust off some songs that we haven't played in a long time and there will also be a new song from the upcoming album. Supporting us will be AKREA; their debut reminded us of our early days. If you want to experience maximum party atmosphere before we lock ourselves up in the studio for quite some time — go get your tickets in time! Advance tickets will be less than 20 euros."

"Mit 210 Nach 2010 - Vollgas Weihnachten Mit Den Reitern" tour dates:

Dec. 26 - Köln, GER @ Live Music Hall
Dec. 27 - Würzburg, GER @ Posthalle
Dec. 28 - Stuttgart/Wendlingen, GER @ Live Club
Dec. 29 - Bochum, GER @ Matrix
Dec. 30 - Jena, GER @ F-Haus

DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER will have its latest album, "Licht", released in the U.S. on November 10 via The End Records. The U.S. version of the LP will come with six bonus tracks (two studio, four live) and "stunning" new album art, including an alternate cover.

Released in Europe on August 29, 2008 via Nuclear Blast Records, "Licht" was the group's first and only album to feature guitarist Lady Cat-Man, who replaced Pitrone in February 2008.

"Licht" registered the following first-week chart positions:

Germany: #29
Austria: #49
Switzerland: #88

DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER parted ways with Lady Cat-Man earlier in the year and replaced her with Ady.
